My Tattoo Career: A Journey of Art and Expression

Embarking on a career in tattooing is not just about creating art on skin; it's about storytelling, personal expression, and connecting with clients on a intimate and trustworthy level. My journey into the world of tattooing began as a passion for art and a desire to leave a lasting impression on people’s lives. Here’s a glimpse into my tattoo career and what it means to me:

  1. The Beginning: My journey started when I was 11 years old and I watched Miami Ink for the first time. As a child and teen I was always drawing, sketching designs, and experimenting with different art forms. After years of honing my skills, I decided to pursue tattooing professionally. It wasn’t easy and I was told “NO” a lot. Finally in October of 2012, I was finally told I could have an apprenticeship from my mentor JP after many years of getting tattooed by him and countlessly showing him my art work.

  2. Apprenticeship: The apprenticeship was a crucial step in my career. It allowed me to learn the fundamentals of tattooing, hygiene practices, and the importance of understanding skin and human anatomy. Under the guidance of experienced artists in the industry of more than 20 years, I developed my style and techniques while gaining valuable insights into the industry.

  3. Developing My Style: As I grew more confident in my abilities, I began to develop my artistic style. I experimented with various techniques, from traditional to contemporary styles, and focused on creating custom designs that resonate with my clients. Each tattoo tells a story, and I take pride in bringing their visions to life.

  4. Building a Clientele: Building a loyal clientele has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. Through social media and word of mouth, I’ve been able to showcase my work and connect with individuals who appreciate my art. Establishing strong relationships with clients not only enhances their tattoo experience but also enriches my journey as an artist.

  5. Continuous Learning: Tattooing is an ever-evolving art form, and I believe in the importance of continuous learning. With the future of my career ahead of me, I plan on attending conventions, workshops, and collaborating with fellow artists to help me stay updated on trends and techniques, ensuring that my work remains relevant and innovative, so my business and clientele can continue to grow for many years to come.

In conclusion, my tattoo career is more than just a job; it’s a lifelong passion that allows me to express my creativity while making a meaningful impact on others. Each tattoo is a collaboration, a shared experience that deepens the connection between artist and client. I look forward to continuing this journey and exploring new horizons in the world of tattooing.
